3-Day Murchison Falls & Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

  • 6:00 AM – Depart from Kampala or Entebbe for a scenic road trip to Murchison Falls.
  • 9:00 AM – Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience, an exciting opportunity to observe Uganda’s only wild rhinos on foot.
  • 12:30 PM – Lunch at Kabalega Diner before continuing to the park.
  • 3:30 PM – Visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the Nile crashing through a 7-meter gorge into a roaring cascade. Enjoy breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
  • 5:00 PM – Check-in at your lodge and unwind before dinner.

Overnight stay at: Pakuba Safari Lodge / Paraa Safari Lodge / Murchison River Lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari

  • 6:00 AM – Early morning game drive in the Buligi sector, one of the best spots to see wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, and various bird species.
  • 10:00 AM – Return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation.
  • 2:00 PM – Boat safari on the Nile, sailing towards the bottom of Murchison Falls. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and countless birds along the riverbanks.
  • 4:30 PM – Optional nature walk or evening relaxation at your lodge.
  • 7:00 PM – Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Optional Chimpanzee Trekking & Return to Kampala

  • 6:00 AM – Optional chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest (extra activity) to track primates like chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, and colobus monkeys.
  • 8:00 AM – Breakfast at the lodge before check-out.
  • 9:30 AM – Begin the journey back to Kampala/Entebbe with a scenic drive through Uganda’s lush landscapes.
  • 1:00 PM – Stopover for lunch at Kabalega Diner.
  • 5:00 PM – Arrival in Kampala/Entebbe, marking the end of your adventure.
