12-Day Soul of Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda

• Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by your guide.

• Check-in at a hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.

• Optional visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre or a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria.

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Transfer to Murchison Falls

• Depart for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot.

• Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest wildlife reserve.

• Sunset game drive upon arrival.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari

• Morning game drive in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, and more.

• Afternoon boat safari on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls.

• Hike to the Top of the Falls for breathtaking views.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest – The Primate Capital

• Long scenic drive to Kibale National Park, famous for its chimpanzee population.

• Stopover for lunch in Fort Portal, a beautiful town at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

• Morning chimpanzee trek in Kibale’s rainforest.

• Afternoon nature walk in Bigodi Swamp, known for its rich birdlife and primates.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Boat Safari

• Morning drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

• Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, and birds.

Day 7: Game Drive & Ishasha’s Tree-Climbing Lions

• Morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains to spot lions, elephants, and buffaloes.

• Transfer to Ishasha Sector to see the tree-climbing lions.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

• Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

• Evening relaxation at a lodge near the rainforest.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking – Face-to-Face with the Gentle Giants

• Early morning gorilla trek, spending an hour with a habituated gorilla family.

• Afternoon visit to the Batwa pygmies for a cultural experience.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo & Evening Safari Walk

• Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park.

• Evening game walk to see zebras, elands, and impalas.

Day 11: Morning Game Drive & Boat Safari on Lake Mburo

• Morning game drive or optional horseback safari.

• Boat cruise on Lake Mburo, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and birds.

• Transfer back to Entebbe/Kampala.

Day 12: Departure or Visit to the Source of the Nile in Jinja

• Depending on your flight schedule, visit Jinja for a trip to the Source of the Nile.

• Drop-off at Entebbe Airport for departure.
