3-Day Kidepo Valley National Park Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Kidepo & Afternoon Game Drive

Morning:

• 6:00 AM – Departure from Kampala or Entebbe

  • Begin your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park via road (10-12 hours) or by a domestic flight from Entebbe (2 hours).

• 12:30 PM – Arrival and Check-in

  • If flying, arrive at Apoka Airstrip, where a guide will transfer you to your lodge, such as Apoka Safari Lodge or Kidepo Savannah Lodge.

  • If traveling by road, stop for lunch in Gulu or Kitgum before proceeding to the park.

Afternoon:

• 3:00 PM – Afternoon Game Drive

  • Head out for your first safari experience in the Narus Valley, a prime area for spotting buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and lions. The valley’s water sources attract wildlife, making it the best place to observe animal interactions.

• 6:30 PM – Return to Lodge & Dinner

Day 2: Full Day Safari & Cultural Experience

Evening:

• 6:00 PM – Sunset Drive & Sundowner Experience

  • Drive to a scenic viewpoint for a sundowner, watching the sun set over Kidepo’s dramatic landscape.

• 7:30 PM – Dinner & Campfire Experience

  • Enjoy a relaxing dinner followed by a fireside chat with guides, sharing stories about the park’s history and wildlife encounters.

Day 3: Morning Safari & Return to Kampala/Entebbe

Morning:

• 6:00 AM – Optional Bush Breakfast & Short Safari

  • Enjoy an early bush breakfast in the wild (if offered by your lodge), followed by a short game drive to spot any elusive wildlife before departure.

• 8:30 AM – Check-out & Departure

  • If flying, board a domestic flight from Apoka Airstrip back to Entebbe.

  • If traveling by road, begin the journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch in Gulu or Kitgum along the way.

Evening:

• 6:00 PM – Arrival in Kampala/Entebbe
